Hi 👋, I'm Chloe Zhong. I’m a backend software engineer who thrives on tackling challenging problems and turning complexity into simplicity, reliability, and speed.
I earned my Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Donghua University, and I’m now pursuing my Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Washington, focusing on distributed systems, databases, and scalable software architecture.
Before grad school, I worked at SAP, designing and implementing large-scale microservices on AWS/Azure that powered real-world supply chain operations across global markets. My work contributed to $600K+ in annual recurring revenue, serving millions of users worldwide — scaling microservices and ensuring robust system performance.
My toolkit includes Java, Python, Go, and a range of backend technologies — from Message Queues(Kafka/RabbitMQ/Temporal) to Redis caches, Kubernetes clusters, and Terraform configurations. I enjoy digging deep: debugging JVM memory leaks, fine-tuning performance, and exploring system internals to truly understand the “why” behind how things work.
While backend engineering is my core passion, I’m also curious about AI-driven systems and how machine learning can make software smarter and more adaptive. I’ve experimented with integrating NLP models into enterprise workflows — enough to appreciate both the creativity and challenges it brings.
Beyond coding, I’m a self-driven learner who loves experimenting with new tools, joining hackathons, and contributing to open source project (open-telemetry). I enjoy sharing what I learn — partly to give back, partly to remember, and partly because writing closes the loop of creation.
